HunterStone Launches SCORM Conversion and Validation
Services
New
Services for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and
Windows SharePoint Services 3.0
Columbia, SC – HunterStone, announced today it has
started delivering content conversion and validation
services in conjunction with THESIS Librarian. The
successful breakthrough application, THESIS Librarian,
provides subject matter experts and learning content authors
with an environment where they can share Learning Objects
and collaborate to develop SCORM conformant course content.
The new SCORM conversion and validation services will offer
to its client’s conversion services for “legacy” content
into the THESIS Librarian solution or the conversion of
legacy content that a customer will use in their own
learning environment excluding the Librarian.
THESIS
Librarian can store any content that is SCORM 1.2 or SCORM
2004 compliant whether created by THESIS Professional or by
any other SCORM 1.2 or SCORM 2004 compliant tool. The THESIS
Librarian is a dynamic set of web parts contained within
Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS2007) and
Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 and provides a rich set of
tools to enable content creators, educators, and users to
easily find and utilize learning material in the enterprise.
The Librarian builds upon the features of the MOSS2007 suite
and Windows SharePoint Services 3.0.
THESIS
conversion services can:
-
Convert course packages when migrating from one platform
to another;
-
Upgrade lower version course packages to higher version
course packages, when upgrading to a higher version;
-
Transform Legacy formats to SCORM 1.2 conformant or
2004 packages to enable distribution of content to other
products;
-
Delivering course back-up file to clients or deploy the
final course files on client LMS for general storage and
archiving.
“We
need to find better ways to reuse, share and recycle our
instructional products”, says Neil Richards, CEO,
HunterStone, Inc. “THESIS Librarian with conversion
services gives users much greater flexibility and power to
share and collaborate content, yet still remain easy-to-use,
allowing anyone to rapidly create e-learning courses. We
believe THESIS Librarian with conversion services will give
our customers a reusable, accessible, interoperable and
durable content system
with the ability to overcome the greatest
challenge…mastering content”.
THESIS
Librarian Requirements
-
THESIS Librarian requires any version of Windows Server
2003 with any versions of the Microsoft SQL Server 2000,
Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 or MOSS2007.
-
THESIS Librarian is a standalone product that can be
used to store any SCORM content, however, in order to
utilize THESIS Librarian to its fullest potential, it is
recommended that THESIS Professional is used in
conjunction with THESIS Librarian to fully exploit all
function and features.
A LITE version of THESIS Librarian is currently available on
a download trial basis. Users of THESIS Librarian LITE will
experience the ease of preparing SCORM learning objects for
their Learning Management Systems. THESIS 3.5 extends this
usability into a whole new realm and provides capabilities
to add content authoring packages other than Office, and
adds multimedia, interactivity, questions and tracking.
HunterStone, Inc. THESIS 3.5 remains easy-to-use to rapidly
create fully functional SCORM compliant e-learning courses.
