Desire2Learn Teams with HunterStone
Enabling Rapid Creation of SCORM Learning Modules
Desire2Learn Learning Environment and
THESIS
to simplify creation of SCORM compliant eLearning modules
Kitchener-Waterloo, ON,
Canada
– Desire2Learn Inc., a leading
provider of mission-critical enterprise eLearning solutions,
today announced that
HunterStone has joined the Desire2Learn
Partner Network as a Select ISV Member, offering
Desire2Learn clients the ability to easily create Sharable
Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) compliant eLearning
modules.
This partnership enables content creators to easily
develop learning objects using familiar Microsoft Office
applications, and rapidly convert existing content into
accepted eLearning specifications. SCORM compliant learning
modules can be stored, tagged and accessed on an "as needed"
basis from multiple sources including users' desktops and
learning object repositories, as well as being launched and
tracked in the
Desire2Learn Learning Environment.
The Desire2Learn Learning Environment was the first
academically-focused system to be
certified to support SCORM, and offers a complete suite
of teaching and learning functionality for course
development, delivery and management. Desire2Learn empowers
organizations to achieve their eLearning vision through
learning environments that reflect their vision, objectives
and pedagogy.
HunterStone's
THESIS
product line provides plug-ins to Microsoft Office and
converts any web presentable content into standards-based
SCORM objects with a few simple mouse clicks. Available in
twelve languages, HunterStone's THESIS provides users
worldwide with one eLearning solution to create, deliver and
measure interactive learning over the Internet and
intranets.
"THESIS compliments the Desire2Learn Learning Environment
by offering clients the ability to rapidly deploy
SCORM-based learning content, empowering them to focus on
teaching and learning, and not on the technology," said
Jeremy Auger, Desire2Learn Chief Operating Officer. "This
partnership further demonstrates our commitment to providing
an ever more integrated environment in which instructors can
offer learners an engaging online experience."
"We are excited about entering into this partnership with
Desire2Learn and providing SCORM eLearning creation and
conversion tools to their customers," stated HunterStone CEO
Neil Richards. "We envision that Desire2Learn users will be
able to save significant amounts of time and ultimately
money by utilizing THESIS for their SCORM eLearning needs."
